The Harry Potter themed masquerade party is on! Bring a date, wear a mask, wear a robe, I don’t care.
Word around the Capitol today is that Valerie Dalton will be holding a party. ‘A Harry Potter themed masquerade ball.’ - As described by Gamemaker, Heath Weiss. It is rumored that the hostess will be dressing as Ginny Weasely, daughter of Molly and Arthur Weasley, and sister to Charlie, Fred, George, Ron, and Bill Weasley in the fictional series written by J.K. Rowling.
The Miracle, or Utter Surprise, of Parenthood [May 15th]
There has always been more than enough scandals to keep a citizen’s mind amused and curious about what’ll be next. We can now turn to the people who have become their own story altogether. The victors attract attention fairly easily, but yet there is always more reasons for our eyes to be trained on them.
Earlier this month, it was discovered that the victor of the sixty-ninth games, Artie Redwood, was the unlikely son of one of the greatest of the gamemakers, Holden Weiss. Details into this have been obscured from the media’s view, however we have confirmed that it is indeed true. Artie has taken on the status of being Weiss’s son, and they had created a small, if not shaky, father-son bond already. Even so, the victor has receives special permissions as to his father now.
A child who will probably not receive such special treatment is the young Eliott Webb, who happens to be the surprise child of victor Micah Webb. Although the mother’s identity has not yet been discovered, we do know that the mother has sent the child to the Capitol to now be under the care of her father. A few weeks behind Weiss, Webb has been offered fathering advice by the gamemaker. He has also received the support of other victors, including his girlfriend, best friend, and a few others.
The matter of Eliott’s status in the Capitol has not yet been addressed, so the child is currently going back and forth between the Capitol, and Miss Irene Trinket’s home, and the forest. She has reportedly made friends with most of the victors and others she has met so far, such as an unusual Haymitch Abernathy, though she has also reportedly annoyed a few others, including one Johanna Mason.
Possible children of other victors and gamemakers have not be hinted at yet, but the Capitol News will being conducting investigations into possible children that may appear. Until then, please wait for an update on Eliott’s status.
Victor in ICU in a coma [May 15th]
Laurel Allderdyce, a victor from district five, has been reported as hospitalized. A few days ago, she was found unconscious in the forest with multiple wounds, broken bones, and bleeding profusely. When she was found by a fellow victor and rushed to the hospital, where she was placed under strict twenty-four hour care until she was deemed stable and no longer critical. Her visitors have been severely restricted, and as far as we know, no one has been to see her. Our reporters were also unable to catch a glimpse of her, but we were able to arrange a twenty minute interview with the doctor who treated her, Dr. Elijaeh Mainow.
“When she came in, there was some controversy among the nurses. None of them wanted to get in trouble for helping her,” he commented on when she arrived in the hospital lobby. “One of the secretaries had to call the President’s office to settle everybody down.” The Minister in charge of Game affairs gave the go ahead, and from that point on every resource was used to ensure she made it through. When we asked about the person who brought her to the hospital, the doctor refused to give us a straight answer. “We had to send them away because they weren’t actually allowed out of the forest, even if they were helping Ms. Allerdyce. So we’ve decided that that information is need to know, and is not to be released. However, we will say that they asked us to take the absolute best care of Laurel as we can, and we plan to keep that promise.”
There is no word from the doctors and nurses yet on her coma, and the possibly time when she would wake up. However, Dr. Mainow is confident she will wake up very soon and make a full recovery. Her family has been notified, and will be kept up to date along with all our readers.
